Here are a few (turn on JavaScript to play for real).

  1. Team A scored the first goal and the last goal of the match. Did Team A win?

    Answer

Not necessarily. Not necessarily. A leads 1–0, B scores 3, then A scores again: A got the first and last goals but lost 2–3.

  2. 10 candles are burning. You blow out 3 of them. How many candles are still burning?

    Answer

    7. 7. The famous riddle asks what's left the next morning; this one asks about right now, so 10 − 3 = 7 still burn.

  3. It's not true that Lan didn't eat the last spring roll. Who ate the last spring roll?

    Answer

Lan. Lan. 'Not true that she didn't' cancels out to 'she did'.

  4. If a week runs from Monday to Sunday, which day is right in the middle of it?

    Answer

Thursday. 7 days, so the middle is day 4: Mon, Tue, Wed, then Thursday, then Fri, Sat, Sun.

  5. On the Moon, an astronaut lets go of a sturdy helium balloon. It…

    Answer

Falls to the ground. It falls. A balloon only rises by being lighter than the air around it, and the Moon has no air.
